A STEP TOSUCCESS
Student and policy
Student participation in politics is a
debatable issue. Strong arguments can ba
and against the issue r
may be said that early initiation of the youth when the,
are passing through a sensitive phase of their life ma
prove to be harmful. On the other hand, it may be argue:
that the current political atmosphere is so vitiated 2
the present lot of politicians are, generally speaking
corrupt that unless they are completely ousted and he
youth take charge of the situation, there appears to be
no hope for the country. Both the arguments carr
weight. However, anything attempted prematurely does
not bring very happy results. If the youth are not strore
enough to fight infections, they might catch the
infections themselves. Both sides having been carefuly
considered, perhaps it is better for the students to shun
politics, at least in the early stages of their student life.
The first great disadvantage the students suffer when
they participate in politics is the general neglect of their
studies. It is not difficult to come by intelligent yourg
students who have been victims of extreme indulgence

nce upon a time, there lived a child in Boston
USA. He was very sad and passed his time
dejectedly and anxiously. For, when the other
children of his age went to school, he used to be busy in
making soap in his father's soap factory. His job was to
assist his father in his work. Father wanted to handover
this business to his son in future but after noticing his son
being uninterested and reluctant in soap making, he told
his eldest son to take his younger brother Ben in his
business of press. He thought Ben could not run business
of soap effectively, he might become a good printer in
the press. Ben also wanted the same.
Ben started working in the press. In press, he found the
work interesting and easy as compared to soaps. He took
great enthusiasm and interest in it. While printing, he
used to go through the literary scripts of renowned
writers of his time and felt great change in his ideas while
reading them. He desired to be a writer. For this purpose,
he started reading various kinds of magazines,
in politics. They cut a sorry figure at examination and
then repent, but it is too late. Even those who become
professional politicians when they grow up fare poorny
They are ill-equipped for the job. They lack an all-round
general education and are also unaware of the bask
newspapers and books. He also brought change in his
food. He used to have the cheapest and light diet so that
he can save some money and buy some books for
studies. In the result of his vast and deep study, many
new ideas arose in his mind and his power of imagination
grew stronger and stronger. All that he imagined and
thought, he jotted down and printed. His creations and
scripts were so effective that people consider them
those of great writers and scholars. He labored very hard
in it and after the age of twenty and before death he was
considered to be one of the greatest philosophers and
concepts of politics. They fail to grasp great national and
international issues in the fields of economics, science
and technology. If we examine the educational
qualifications and the general mental caliber of du
politicians, we shall get a jolt. How can such politicias
lead us on progress? Perhaps one reason for
situation may be that they pursued politics immaturely
and at the cost of their studies when they were
eyoung. If
we want this unfortunate situation to be avoided, We
scholars in the world.
After a long time, it is felt that whatever is discussed
above and whatever the praise made by his companions
and followers, is not baseless. The child who climbed the
steps through diligence and persistence was none but a
famous philosopher, a great writer, and a renowned
scientist of America Benjamin Franklin.
must take concrete steps at all levels of our national life
to save young students from the ill effects of politics.

the student community for their own benefits. They may
have very just causes and they might like to enlist the
